Have I made History?

My goal in life is to serve others. I would normally not boast of myself, as it is not my style, but I think this is worth bragging about:

I am 69 years old, have arthritis in my right hand, RMS (Repetitive Motion Syndrome from all the years of gaming) in both arms and wrists, and just got my platinum trophy for Elden Ring.

ER is only the second game I loved enough to platinum. The other being the original Demons’ Souls. Sadly, I lost that on my PS record due to lack of playing on PSN. I was soooo involved in WoW that I didn’t play anything else for years. PS stripped my record because of this inactivity on my PS3. It is also how I got RMS from hours upon hours of playing WoW. I quit after I completed WotLK due to burnout. I also didn’t liked the direction of where that game was going and the dealing with the toxic community, but that is another topic. My arthritis is from just getting old, lol.

How many hours have you played Elden Ring? 386 hrs.
Are you going to keep playing ER? Of course!
Didn’t your arms and hands ever hurt a lot? **** yes!
Did you ever have to quit from the pain? Oh yeah
Did you ever rage quit? Once
How did you avoid raging? I remembered the horrific pain from shingles I got the last time I lost control of my emotions.
How did you feel after you got the plat. trophy? Like it was a great way to retire from gaming, but who am I kidding? lol
When did you first start seriously gaming? 1993
What game? Doom
What other games have you liked, besides WoW? Ultima Online, Diablo 1,2 and 3 (mostly 2), Oblivion, Skyrim, Civilization (all of them) and Everquest 2 to name a few.
What is your favorite game of all time? Master of Magic
Favorite Genre: RPG’s
Do you like shooters? **** no!
What character names were you the first to use in games? BloodBath. Xerxis, Egregious, Halter Ego, Rizuul (which was added to the Skyrim Hearthfire. Coincidence? Maybe.), Hunter Rhodes, UNABURPER, to name a few.
Will you share with us a story? Sure…
A friend (Mike) that I was gaming a lot with online called me one day. We were playing Diablo (1) at that time. He asked me to join him in a Multiplayer server room with a new character and join him in his password protected game. I was astonished to see that it was a Hell (hardest) difficulty game. He said to get in the portal he had left me. I did and he killed Diablo. We popped back into the room after credits rolled, and I had a level 1 character with 3 glowing dots above my name (one for each difficulty beaten). The room erupted with anger calling me a cheater, among other names I can’t mention here. We were still chatting on the phone and talked about how crazy serious the people in there were. After we explained on a private message to one of the room moderators how we did it, everything finally settled down. That was awesome!!

Remember there are much more important things in life than games (I say this even to the professional gamers out there), always be thankful for your blessings, and fix yourself first before trying to fix anybody else. We all have plenty to do.
