I laughed so hard at Sebastian in theaters when I saw the original I embarrassed my family.

yes it would, nothing can touch the originals.

I've never seen a live action remake and I got nothing positive to say about any of them so no I won't be watching it.

Little Mermaid was one of my favourite movies growing up and I'm not tarnishing it.

Placing the irksomeness of race swapping characters aside, Halley Bailey is actually well suited to play the role of a Disney Princess. She's young and pretty looking enough and she did a rather good job of singing Can You Feel The Love Tonight at the Disney World 50th celebration. The singing voice is very important for a Disney Princess, and unlike with the animated movies, they kind of need to cast the same actress to do the whole movie, rather than having a separate songstress just to do the songs.

I don't particularly feel like the hair style she has in the movie looks very sporting on her or mermaid-like though[people.com]. I wish they used this hair style instead.[www.scmp.com]

I don't even know who else is in the cast though, so I can't comment on anybody else.

The Little mermaid is probably one of my least favorite classic Disney films. And therefore I have only watched two of them in this new proto live action stuff. Beauty and the Beast was okay and Mulan was just horrible.

So I don't really care for any of these films. Therefore I'm not going to watch anymore of them. And that is pretty much the whole reason.

The concept is getting old. Today I can easily find korean dramas with much more interesting + complicated romance. : P

It is not really the little mermaid, it is the Disney Mermaid..

They failed to get the important teachings from the original story (by H.C. Andersen) that they stole... they basically turned it into an abomination... I think that should pretty much sum it up.
