Imagine if the WW ONLY had the Triforce Quest. That's Skyward Sword one giant Triforce Hunt with boss fights thrown in randomly and you fight Ganon several times to 'prove' your strength but never quite defeat him to drag the game out.
Remember Satori Iwata died halfway thru BOTW so a lot of stuff went unfinished I think a lot of the ideas were his as he had a major hand in shaping the game. There's an area dedicated to him to honor and whenever I go there I fully respect it. The first time I didn't realize it's significance and blew it all up so I feel bad about my stupid self. One of the NPC's is based off of him goofy glasses included.
The era between ALTP and MM was very much respected by people who played/knew about it. There were websites/forums all dedicated unlike the few places now that got taken over by stupid people posting crap often nothing to do with the series
Because it tried too hard to be something it wasn't though to be fair I blame the hardware as the GC was limited in it's 3D abilities. Remember the games were all around 1.5GB!!!!! The E3 Trailer for TP is nothing like the final product!
WWHD is essentially WW fixed to the best of their abilities and the only reason the Pee U was 'saved'.
I wouldn't call it "fixed." They added a LOT of bloom which does not work, and changed up color pallets in a way that doesn't fit the original aesthetic. They tried going for a more realistic look than the game needed, and it didn't work out well. You can mod the game to remove the bloom, restore the original color pallet and it looks and plays better than the original though. Likewise, you can mod the original to look and play better too, with HD texture packs that even adjust the HUD for 16:9 widescreen.
It would have had exactly the same amount of respect if every game after OOT was a literal turd in a box.
They should've just waited for the Switch to release it and use a modified older Unreal Engine at least the attempt would've been a lot more honest and shows they actually tried.
They didn't even need to go as far as they did. They didn't need to change the visuals and lighting. They could have just made it higher resolution, widescreen, change the UI to compensate for the widescreen, and modernize camera movement.
Twilight Princess is just great art for the most part, with just a few flaws (it just becomes a bit too edgy, pointlessly, a few times... and all the "old west movies" influence should have been removed too but this is also something that becomes apparent only a few times... at least 90% of the game is just great art)
If you talk about emo Kingdom Hearts is emo (and despite that KH2 manages to be absolutely great visual art too anyway), not Twilight Princess. Twilight Princess just gets a bit too edgy a few times.
The original E3 of TP was a lot different and more akin to a mini Breath of the Wild where you could go to distant mountains and actually go there. The Lost Woods would've been very dark where you would need the actual torch a whole lot more then you did. Yes you could've actually gotten lost and been in some serious @#@@!
The Twilight Realm was going to resemble an old fashion horror film where it was a lot spookier, etc. I was very disappointed it was all removed.
They were also going to have a full on magic meter which some of the screenshots show.
And added the missing dungeons! 😲🙃
You mean bloated. It tried too much to be something it was not.
