Something else to keep in mind is that speed limits mostly only apply to public roads. If you're driving on your own private property, you can go as fast as you want as long as you do not get into an accident. As such, there are also private race track clubs[shop.advanceautoparts.com].
People in Germany and maybe some folks around the Isle of Man and a few other places where there are unrestricted roads or where speed limits are simply not enforced.
As a German, I can tell you first hand. I'm actually one of those people that legally drives 140 with an econobox given the circumstances allow it.
As for why tachos display ridiculous speeds despite there being no way the car is going to reach that either way:
Manufacturers use the same components across a wide range of specs and models. That Civic also has a Type R. And Honda also produced the NSX. Particularly gauge clusters and switches are often re-used across specs, models and even brands and manufacturers, because there actually ain't a lot of companies producing these to meet regulations and standards, and it's a really easy way of cutting costs.
they still have a car show every friday
(or at least they did before covid, but i think they are doing it again)
at our foster's freeze
we got pulled over one time when he was showing me his new nitros on the parkway
the cop loved the truck, he got a call right before he started writing the ticket and let us go
For future reference, type "convert kilometres to miles" in Google. That way you don't sound like someone who doesn't know what Google is.
