To answer myself; I can, very well but I hate doing it.

Yes, and I haven't met a type food I cannot successfully prepare. Baking is a different story lol

I do enjoy it, but not nearly as much if I'm only cooking for myself.

Yes, but i hate how sometimes preparing the ingredients takes more time than the cooking process itself

Yes. I also ascribe to the notion that a cook should remove as much labor from the process as possible, although I have set my bar rather low to accommodate as much microwaving as possible. Like, having to cut tinfoil for a tent or put a parchment sheet down is almost too much work for me right now.

I can. I can make stew of any sorts, stir fried rice, fried chicken, and pork/beef. I have a Masters in Culinary Arts.

For the longest time, I thought what is so different about baking?? Why is it so difficult? Is this just something I can’t do?

There is no tasting spoon involved. No taste as you go. It’s exact science! And some of us kinda failed at science.. 😒

Yes. Self taught and I enjoy it. Those around me seem to enjoy my efforts as well, which makes me happy.

A slight curse though is when others cook for me, I find I can't enjoy it as much as I probably would otherwise due to thinking about what I would do differently to make it better. Of course I don't say this. Instead I smile and say it's delicious and thank whoever was gracious enough to cook for me.

Honestly, I’ve watched enough British bakeoffs to get me confident enough to try bread but that’s the extent at this point. :p

Actually, funny you should mention that, I've myself been doing bread loaves recently. They ain't pretty, but they taste good.

Oh! Except for my family-famous Irish soda bread. That's the one thing I can bake extremely well. Though the real secret is just my grandma's minimalist recipe from the old country.

I said yes (can´t remember when i cooked the last time - and then it was probably eggs. How to get a meal? Bread, delivery service, fast food, girlfriend, someone else cooks - which is also the capitalist approach. Have the people who enjoy doing things do the work, for a small fee. All people who cook for themselves but don´t enjoy it or don´t make money of it are communists and undermine the system !!!)

I can cook and make a few meals, but I don't consider that as being able to cook.
I am having troubles following the recipes due to how much of a perfectionist I am when it comes to cooking.. So, when there's mentioned to add one spoon of [ingredient], I'm questioning the meaning of spoon as we do have a few different spoons that do fit the definition, and so the catch is which one to choose as they're all of a bit different sizes..
