People like pushing the rules, that's why. It's probably more a psychological feel good factor than anything else
I heard many say that 420 was more fun when it was against the law.

Should have checked yourself at the door op as i really dont think you have thought about what it suggests like for instance rape. Such a foolish saying tempts the easily convinced.
Because you are transcending society's subjectively derived standards to achieve the means of your own choices.

The 4/20 rallies on the capitol steps were memorable, but really it had a purpose and we achieved that purpose. It's not fun going to jail.

I know what it means to me, why don't you tell us what it means for you?

If you do not know what most people mean by 420 then I suggest a simple and quick internet search
I think if different places around the world the term "forbidden fruit" can mean different things.

For example, it seems like a lot of people here are equating "Forbidden Fruit" to be associated with marijuana.

Where I live and in my community, the term "forbidden fruit" means something very different and much more disturbing. The term refers to having or wanting sexual relations with a family member, married person, or someone who is underage.

I will say that I do appear to be in the minority in thinking that this is what "forbidden fruit" was referring to. When I did a simple Google search of that term, I got a lot of hits on the religious connotations (no surprise there), but also references to a strain of marijuana called "forbidden fruit".

It wasn't until page three that Urban Dictionary popped up with the definition I was familiar with.

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=forbidden%20fruit

And even with this, it is like 5 or 6 down the list.

So, my guess is it is more of a Pacific Northwest phrase?

I was very surprised to see a thread called "Forbidden Fruit" and almost did not click on it. The only reason I did click on it is because I did remember that the term could be referring to Adam and Eve and wanted to REALLY believe that this was a religious post.

To most people Forbidden Fruit means something that is against authoritarian laws but shouldn't be.

Example:
In a modern world where hygiene is practised when it comes to food production and processing, also meat inspection then why should pork be against Jewish or Islamic laws?
i have a sister fetish. i know its taboo, bad and all but still why am i like this?

or should i be asking why is it not okay?
