All I have to do is look at a pie the wrong way and I get bloated, acid reflux, and about half a stone heavier.
I have a cat that has constant access to food and eats a lot, but isn't really that fat at all. I've seen much fatter cats. The vet has said he is overweight but he doesn't loot very overweight to me.
Humans turn into absolute whales in comparison and all we have to do is go slightly over 2000 calories a day. 2000 calories is not a lot of food.
Why are we even forced to count numbers? That's miserable. Our bodies should be able to control obesity much better than this, just like cats.

*after some time the pirouette finally stops*
*deep breath*
Hey, Devsman. Sup? Ya know, I was just thinking about that very thing you're broaching right now and this is what I gotta say... wait for it, Devsman... apples and cheese!
It's as simple as calories in vs calories out. Run a deficit, you go down. But wait, if Pooh Bear eats too much honey, you go up. The very most easiest fix? Don't drink calories.
Personally, I think Fuji apples are the way to go. Delicious cold quartered with a sprinkle of salt. Filling, nutritious, and only about 100 calories. Cheese? Not so much.
*sings apples and cheeese and skips away before Mrs Devsman finds out*
*skips back in*
C'mon Devsman, ya know, how about an award for, ya know, for the effort. It's not the award I want. What I covet most is be the recipient of only the second award in the entire magnificent storied history of Devsman to be given out, ladies and gentlemen. With Devsman, they are not mere awards. Oh no, no, no. Make no mistake, they're trophies. Devsman trophies - handpinked and shined to a high sheen. Okay Devsman, how about this? What if I promise to screenshot it, print it out, and give it with warm wishes to the kbiz counterpoint who is perhaps in this very house.
Did I oversell it, Devsman? Please don't tell me I oversold it. Heh.
From an ectomorph body
Food Input > Energy output = Fat Storage
Sugar = 1st Fast and Quick Energy
Carbs = 2nd Energy Source
Fats = 3rd Energy Reserves
Most of the human diet is made up of sugars and highly processed carbs. You are in fact drinking most of the sugars and if alcohol, empty carbs too. Therefore the human body has no need nor desire to even bother using the fat reserves and rather just adds to it instead, with the additional food provided.
If you want a diet, it would be to increase Protein+Fibre+Water, while reducing Sugars+Carbs. As for Fats, just avoid saturated fats, you can still have the healthy fats. Swap your drinks for water. Increasing protein will make you feel satisfied, rather than staving. Increasing fibre along with enough water will boost metabolism, by pushing the rest of the food nutrition through your gut.
Once your body runs low on sugar intake, it will swap over to carbs, once that's low, it will burn fat storage. All you need to do then is go for a daily walk and exercise a bit.
Depending on how active you wish to be, adjust your food intake accordingly. This is why body builders will eat a ton of high protein food, because they actually need more to keep that high metabolism and exercise rate.
If in doubt, eat salad (without all the dressings). You can endlessly eat salad like a rabbit and never gain weight. Throw in some chicken breast (skinless) for protein, some fibre, and keep hydrated with water.
Next work on your sleeping pattern, as you will actually burn more fat during sleep than sitting around idle all day. Get up and move around more regularly during the day, taking breaks from long periods of sitting.
Find yourself an active activity you enjoy doing: skateboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, biking, hiking, swimming, going on a treadmill with an iFit video display, do a sports or playing some virtual reality, etc.
If you remembered back when you were a kid, you were too busy having fun running around and playing to bother so much about food. Have a meal and go back out to be active again. It's the same deal. You can be as active or non-active as you want (till a point), but the input food needs to match the output.
