I think parents are busy focusing on their stuff today, double income, expensive inflation, etc.. so pewdiepie's fans - usually lonely childs - see him as an elder figure and a brother. Back then he made catch phrases such as the weird sound "Whats up it's pewwwww diepieeee~". He calls everyone a bro army. He crack jokes and play games for them to watch. As they aged, they also start to learn more ways of life. So it's not glorifying. It has been a journey to accompany them I suppose, though I never watch his channel.

Felix is an OG and honestly kind of a boss. I don't watch his content anymore, but I got to give credit where credit is due - the man is successful, a trendsetter, and he's got a cute wife and has finally done what I used to tell him to do on Twitter and put a bun in her oven.

Sycophants want to be part of something big so they glorify an idol and associate that success as their own. It's like when that one kid donated his mom's savings (something like 10k USD) to his favorite streamer just to get a dopamine rush from hearing his name called out on stream. God use to satisfy our need for cohesion, to be understood or heard/noticed. Now we satisfy those needs through streamers.

Really it's just boils down to people who aren't successful being envious of and spiteful towards people who are. Just because you've not made something of yourself doesn't mean you should rag on those who have.

Just make a concerted effort to improve your lot in life instead of hating on those who have done so already. It's not that hard.

Well yeah, the Pareto Principle is a thing for a reason. Most people aren't going to be successful and are probably going to live lives not even worthy of note, and really they should just accept their lot in life and thus do their best to ensure that their lot is the best lot they can have. But a lot of the hate that successful e-celebs get boils down to people who are bitter and envious. At least until you get to the ones that do something completely degenerate and thus deserving of castigation and in some cases crucifixion, but lolcows, horrorcows and the like are a different beast entirely.
