Anyway, where exactly is this "society" that "asks" and "expects" these things of us? Never seen that... and that's coming from someone who lives in a highly conservative country. I don't understand, how can you blame all these things if something is wrong with your own life? What has that even got to do with being male? If anything, being male should make it easier.
The fact that you see an average guy like this who struggles with mental health as some kind of hateful monster is pretty sad.
Where did I say "the average guy who struggles with mental health is a hateful monster", hmm?
There's some irony in making this thread...
Some have lost their way... with help from women... again, there's also irony in that as well...
But I wouldn't be too quick to claim why the number is 77%. It's a matter of debate.
People say that about everyone...
"oh? well ______ are _x more likely to..." but nothing to back it up... it's all a sympathy Olympics
Here you go.[www.verywellmind.com]
As someone who has in the past suffered from mental illness (insert tasteless joke about whether or not it ever stopped) I feel a responsibility to tell my fellow dudes: it can get better. Sometimes you really have to throw yourself at the problem, but it can get better. Don't let anyone belittle you for having emotions just for being a man. We are meant to be emotional creatures. Different colour palette to other beings, but emotions nonetheless. You can get through it, and if you ever feel you can't there is no shame at all in seeking help. Seeking help is how we built the pyramids!*
*Okay maybe a lot of that was slave labour
No, it's an easily verifiable statistic. Hospitals, psychologists, etc keep records of attempts. Women are far more likely to attempt suicide than men. Men are just more effective in their attempts, in large part due to their choice of method being more likely to be firearms which are the single most effective tool.
An emotional state where the person learns many life lessons to become better, slowly overcoming tougher and tougher goals.
I am grateful for the ♥♥♥♥ experiences where I was puking from anxiety.
It is your goal as a man to work for a better world even if you suffer.
Being man is more than just a genital area & hormones, it is a mindset.
Comfort is why nowadays we have so many spoiled manchildren who do little to no work.
Thank you for explaining why men's mental health is so stigmatized.
