Many tech/current web affairs channels I watch have similar opinions on liberty-related topics, but out of all of them, I didn't expected Muta to advocate for 2A so openly. The mainstream sponsors don't really like it.

The issue isn't gun ownership, but gun culture - or rather the lack thereof.

The chance of pepperspray backfiring is way higher than that of a firearm and doesn't always deter the attacker. Obviously, you can't mindlessly use a firearm either. Since it was such a close encounter, I think it would've ended in a struggle, like that incident with that female off-duty police officer. But it would have with peperspray or other less-lethal arms as well. The best protection she had was the publicity from the stream, I guess, but that's something average people don't have and shouldn't strive for as a society.
And it's always a good idea to have legal insurance.

Nah I believe having pepper spray would have protected her more than her stream did. I mean her stream didn't stop the assault, pepper spray would've had a very strong chance to. And if no one was around he could have continued the assault as long as he wanted to, while the stream could do nothing to stop it

The streaming community can handle the aftermath of the assault, and get the guy caught... but pepper spray can stop the assault while it's taking place

Sure, if she would've had a protective bubble around here that cannot be intruded by an attacker. I mean, even if she had a firearm, she first would have needed to aim it. 21-foot-rule and all. Same goes for pepper spray, whether it be in a can or pistol.
In that situation mainly the publicity saved her from worse.
Though, flashing a firearm, long knife or something other potentially deadly and impressive could have had a deterring effect beforehand. However, I doubt anything other than a firearm would've worked on a man. Firearms are amazing equalisers.

Yeah, even defending liberties we can't talk about here. But I didn't expected him to be this upfront on such a topic like this, that rarely ever tangent the digital space.

I have barely any opinions about firearms. Myself I wouldn't be able to aim straight or handle recoil. I can't even aim well in FPS games.
