Are Deer Dumb?

Why are deer scared so easily? Just seen this video where they get chased off by a domestic cat.

Deer are much larger and stronger, could've easily trampled or bit that cat, instead scattered scared. I think a moose would've fought the cat.
Thankfully, the cat didn't got hurt, interesting observation still.

And why are deer seemingly intentionally running into cars and cyclists instead of around them?

they probably just react on instinct and panic when they see fast moving objects.

I wonder if it is really nature or nurture. Like, if they would grow up in a herd of "prey" animals that also fight back, would they still flee?

believe it or not most animals panic and try to run away

when caught they will legit kick and yelp and bite if possible

its why animals, predators, go for the legs or neck or wrap their prey before eating them or bite before wrapping then eating

otherwise they'll get a kick to the teeth and then they'll starve.


so deer it's more they instinctly run from loud noises
but they learn how to run or patterns or if someone or something is friendly they'll not be frightened by it too much.

Logically you know there is no threat, but not all parts of your brain system go by long thought out logic.

I cannot comprehend getting such feelings from Internet arguments.
But I suppose it's the most trivial reason for why there are people wanting to get people banned for simply disagreeing.

Deers are scared of everything except a car rushing on them, that's why these accidents happen so often.

did you ever get close to one? they are like mini dinosaurs, they are 10 times the size of average human.

So basically, they don't see a small domestic cat but something like a cheetah.
But likewise, at least the cat in the video also has no sense of its size and thinks its like a cheetah.

Deer can actually become quite aggressive, especially during the seasons where they mate and birth their young. A stag (male deer) will run you down and murder you.
