WHERE DO YOU SIT IN THE SANDBOX GENRE???
The sandbox genre, is one of the most diverse, different, experimental, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game genres ever.

Depending on the sandbox, it could be your favorite game of all time, or the worst thing you have ever played. To say you enjoy sandbox games I feel anyone could say so. They are all so different despite generally being similar in concept that saying you are a fan of sandbox games is far too vague.

PICK YOUR POISON:

RPG - Bethesdas Elder Scrolls/Fallout

FPS - Gmod

Battle - Mount & Blade

Sole Exploration Focus - No Mans Sky

Factory - Factorio/Satisfactory

Construction - Sim City/Cities Skylines/Roller Coaster Tycoon

Destruction - Just Cause/Teardown

Living - The Sims

Survival - Project Zomboid/Kenshi

Craft - Minecraft/Terraria/Subnautica/Conan Exiles/7 Days to Die

Cars - Beamngdrive
mix - Bully, GTA, Saints Row
Guns - Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades

A genre that bleeds into many different things. One may argue that they dislike sandbox games as they can feel empty or bad. Sandbox games are all about the player making of it as they wish. Sandbox games can be for everyone and anyone, if they know how to make use of it.

In the end it comes down to the framework that surrounds the concept that best fits you.

How about Open World Survival-Crafts? I've grown to really love those.

Subnautica, Conan Exiles, 7 Days to Die, Smallworld, and Grounded to name a few.

The one that let you do what you want that either doesn't have survival mechanism or where these mechanisms doesn't get in the way of being able to explore and just play casually.

I dislike when survival mean you have to binge eat all the time to just not die from hunger.
Well then consider No Mans Sky if that is your primary idea.

Id say at this rate I am creating a list of recommendation.

I've tried it and refunded it right away.

I kept dying to a radiation thing and the game crashed twice in less then an hour.

that gave me a very sour first impression of the game , I don't know if I want to try it again even if it's considered as a good game now.

Well it is repetitive biggest randomly generated world in any game ever. As beautiful as it can be the majority of the gameplay is just mining crap, building bases, obtaining better versions of stuff you have, grind.

Ive considered trying it again recently...

I might as well replay Starbound instead because it's sound like the same thing but in 2D , at least I understand easily how to play Starbound.

No Mans sky isnt very hard, I think you just had a bad start because some planets can be very hazardous.

Yeah, the initial start used to be harder than it is now, especially if you didn't know what you were doing. You always start on a hazardous planet, and if you don't find shelter or sodium quickly you'll die. They've since made that less tense with a good tutorial to put you in the right direction.
I totally thought this was a different type of thread.

Like, where do you sit in the sandbox? All I could see in my mind was a bunch of ingrates eating mouthfuls of sand while others sat in the corners by themselves all alone digging holes...
Destruction. It's always more fun to blow up than to painstakingly build.

Also, I wouldn't consider GTA V a sandbox game. The single player is painfully linear and limits how you can approach missions.

not an architect I guess.
Where is my Grind RPG's? Where is Warcraft or EVE?
For the record, I'm a hardcore RPG Grinder, I have more resources then I will ever (usually) use in most games, and even after that I somehow find ways to need more of the bloody materials! I DO NOT WISH TO GRIND MOLTEN CORE FOR THE 5TH TIME IN A ROW BUT I BLOODY WILL DO IT BECAUSE ITS FUN TO ME!

The grind is real.

Yeah, I was the kid in school melting the legos and getting high on the fumes, not using them to reconstruct a miniature of the Eifel Tower.
