How much money have you wasted on Steam?

I didn't really count those costs.

The money is well spent, I think. I spent many hours on these entertainments.

I'm not doing the math for the unplayed games, but it's probably at least 30% of the total.

I have spend over 4200 euro on steam.
given how steam is abadoning windows 7.. ALL of that is wasted.

-if one were to buy my entire library at their lowest historical prices.. it would cost 1600 euro.
**but you would miss out on a few titles that can no longer be obtained.. (the whatsmylibrary page does not keep historical prices of games no longer obtainable)

most money went into all the dlc for paradox games.. most those have still little playtime..

Only about 130 USD. But if you count the others, in my lifetime it's probably closer to 500.

All except like 5 games were purchased on steep sales. IT'd be too much work to deduct officially, but let's assume I paid between $5 to $10 for each game that falls under your description.

It'd be between $630 to $1,260

Truthfully though there's a lot of games I got for less than $5 and even further I do technically have the intention of playing all the games I own... eventually... probably.

I fell on some downtime a few months ago and it was nice having a selection of games to pick from that I hadn't played before but also didn't need to buy. It's like my own personal Gamepass at this point.

Looking back, I really wish I could have spent my money on another platform other than Steam. Valve needs to reign in Steam. Other communities do so.

If I new then what I know now, I never would have bought the Valve Index or two Steam Links. I would never have put as much money into Steam products that I have. I would have bought another VR device and I am defiantly going to be buying a portable gaming system that is not Valve.

"Wasted" is a wrong word. Of course, some of this money is "wasted", but the other part is "invested" into hundreds of hours of enjoyment that I don't regret.
