Do you think the concept of reincarnation is evil?
I mean the idea that you forget and lose all your loved ones and that your soul is forced against your will to go back into a physical body in an imperfect universe sounds pretty malevolent, no matter how much you argue about how it is meant to teach you lessons. Also, I’m referring to the classic concept of reincarnation, not the New Age concept of it where you have a choice in the matter.

This is just a thought and not intended to be a slant toward any religion.

it is evil in the sence it is a lie.
-and of ♥♥♥♥♥ the father of lies.

buying into that lie will prevent you from seeking Christ and repend.
believing in the lie of reincarnation does not make it true and leads only to hell just as any other road thats not trough Christ.

It also feeds the pride in humans that we ever can earn heaven by our own works..

culturally nations with many believers in it have on the plus side more respect for nature/all living thins.

but on the downside much less emphathy for the poor.. the evil caste-system woulf not ecist without that reincarnation believe.

Reincarnation is suffering.

Enlightenment is the end of suffering.

Salvation is the nullification of enlightenment and suffering, thus becoming true freedom.

If reincarnation is indeed real, I would imagine you would need to go through millions of species before being a human again.

Is it painful? It might be. Depends on how you die in the previous instances...but the reincarnation itself...I don't see how that would be painful, if it is possible

Death ain't painful, but dying sure as hell is.

Besides, if the end goal of reincarnation is to move on to a higher level of existence where there's catgirls and booze and blackjack... then count me in.

You would have true freedom by default if you never existed.

How can lessons be learned if one forgets?

Memory of lesson needs to be remembered if one is to be taught from it.

Agreed, thus why I think reincarnation is a jailing mechanism for souls.

i've only seen this specific one mentioned couple times in articles and two books so far but i've never delved into it. i will thanks for this.
this kinda adds to the theory that early Christianity definitely had Buddhist influence. thank you for this mate.
No problem!

just checked up on them and read a bit.
yeah their stance on sex is definitely a stance that resembles Samsara and reincarnation alas with difference from the Asian counterpart, minor difference though.
that's why they were pescatarian (no cheese, eggs, meat and milk cause they were seen as byproducts of sex).
nice thank you for this mate i was unaware of this belief. Gnostic also in its nature.
Reincarnation is probably...if it exists, is the universe giving you your D20 back and telling you to reroll

The end goal of reincarnation is reincarnation, thus the Ouroboros Cycle. Hence one must renounce Dharmic entities to truly end the cycle.
I'm cheating at reincarnation. Your suppose to be by yourself each life. But I'm multi selves.

Hope the reincarnation police force don't come for us.

well, since one that gets reincarnated doesn't know into what it will be reincarnated, yeah its pretty much roll 5 D20.
supposedly it could vary from a demon to a human and everything in between, including animals.

Gnosticism truly resonate with me in a way other Abrahamic religions don’t. Thus, I prefer identifying as a Gnostic-Christian rather than a Catholic, which is an identity I was born into.
Personally I think the idea of living eternally is worse, unless it's some form "you create your own paradise" thing in which case that'd be ♥♥♥♥♥♥' neat.

I don't believe in anything that is counter productive, self defeating and illogical.

The concept of time no longer exists beyond the veil, hence any notions like boredom will never be relevant again. It can be the same location but a different perspective each time. I assure you living as a spirit is far more preferable than getting different experiences as a physical form.
