I've not risked much in one try (mostly played slots). Maybe like 2-3 dollars a pull (maybe 200-300 in a night).
Most I've won? like 1500 bucks out of one machine in one night of gambling.
I've never won/bet anything significant from card games, roulette, sports betting etc.
Else i was more into bets - and these were about a package of cigarettes with friends.
Investing is where it's at. Invest, don't gamble, Sashie.
That said, I once rolled 27 non-sevens at the Craps table. I was a god. Everyone loved me. I took a chance and I did the most improbable thing. Even tiny probabilities have a chance of happening. Sooo fun.
Doing illogical, irrational, and selfish things is part of the tapestry of human existence. One just needs to balance the things that are smart with things that aren't smart.

My 10 year old niece understands these concepts. I'd expect 19 year olds to, as well.
Edit: Found an article from Polygon:

It was back in 2016 that Valve closed down those CSGO gambling sites, I don't know much about the TF2 & Dota 2 communities in general, so probably they shouldn't have those type of sites.
Edit 2: Nvm it seems they did a crackdown on TF2 gambling sites back to 2017.

"Item Trading
January 27, 2017 - TF2 Team
In July of last year we outlined our position on gambling web sites, specifically noting that Valve has no business relationship with these sites. At that time we also began blocking many CSGO gambling accounts. You can view the original post here.
More recently, some gambling web sites started leveraging TF2 items. Today we began the process of blocking TF2 gambling accounts as well. We recommend you don't trade with these sites."
The answer is (1 - 1/6)^27.
I am mentally trying to piece that together with the law of independent events.
We(most of us) know that different numbers are going to have very different chances of forming and when it's laid out as a visual with D6's it becomes very telling.
