They're gonna charge me to not eat their nasty bacon?!
Back on my teenage years when I worked on one I have seen people ask for the meat itself only, out of the whole burger. Yep, same price.
:O
Well yes I am a lizard person but I just can't do bacon, it's so nasty I don't mind bacon flavoured things but actual bacon? Hell no.
It's only 50 cents cheaper where I am.
The problem is that this doesn’t hold true for most things. I often complain my jeans cost the same as someone twice as wide. It’s possibly twice as much fabric but it doesn’t matter.
Oh man, that sucks.Yeah, if you purchase something that comes with bacon, you don't get a discount for the bacon - or lettuce.
On a more serious note: restaurants are probably set up in a way that prices either stay where they’re at, or they go up. While you’re right that it should technically cost less by excluding the bacon, remember that it would also mean that the business makes less money by extension. And why would a business want to do that?
The only time when they grant discounts are with coupons or special deals, and the reason they do that is in order to coerce you into coming and buying something from them. In that instance, it’s better to make slightly less money than no money at all. In the case where you’re asking about the burger costing less due to less resources being used, consider that: A) most people probably don’t even give the idea a consideration, and B) are you really going to stand up and walk out of the restaurant simply because you didn’t get 80 cents off or something?
In short, the reason why you don’t get a discount is because there is no need for them to give you one.
It's interesting that they charge you more if you want extra ingrediants though, if I wanted EXTRA bacon and not NO bacon they would have charged more a lot more so it's just stupid that this didn't discount my burger, friggen every burger they sell has bacon on it it should be option they should ask "do you want bacon on that?" like they do with cheese!
