The recruitment challenges has been increasing every year and is reaching a critical level.

Each branch is struggling to find enough suitable recruits to reach the required minimum quotas.

Traditionally recruits were primarily from the countryside in poor areas. Between corporations owning the majority of the land for crops which require fewer people to maintain, and the fact that cities draw the wealth and population from the country, there there is a smaller pool to draw from.

Cities and suburbs do not encourage people to be active outdoors and the culture is less open to what military culture needs to thrive.

It's not corporations buying up farm land that is causing the crisis, the military went woke and is now going broke.

That combined with the way they treated service members with the vaccine mandates. And we're at war, sure we might not have declare war by Congress, but we've been sending military aid and soldiers (both special forces and now reservists) to Ukraine.

Afaik most applicants are turned down due to obesity and other physical problems

Honestly this is a good thing, America needs to take care of its own people. Not Europe not Taiwan.

Just pack it up come home and fix our ♥♥♥♥ using the military budget.

NATO is the biggest offender of them all. I would absolutely cheer if we pulled out of that today
