I remember when the original Xbox closed down. Those were the days of good games but no Old Gen console always gets shut down, but PlayStation actually sees profit from the PlayStation Store, so they unclose it. However, many people who play online fall victim to molders.
Anyways, out with the old, in with the new. No one uses old consoles because game developers stop making games for them.
You're on PC anyways, so why care? You don't see console gamers saying, "Hey, did you hear Windows 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 are going away?" Even 11 is going to be 600. So make sure PC meets 600 requirements.
But this is why pc win the war, PC you have to have a new operating system every few years or more when Microsoft says so while xbox and PlayStation you just have to get a new console every year.
Also reminder that DAYTONA USA is backwards compatible but can only be bought through the 360 store because copyright tomfoolery. If you want Daytona on the Xbox, get it soon.
Especially since some of those components can cost more than just buying a new console to begin with.
Also, what war lol. Consoles and PC both serve different purposes and are targeted to different crowds. There is no "war" and there never has been.
Stuff you bought is fine and every backward compatible will still be available to buy on the Microsoft Store.
Physical games will also still be supported
Basically only the Xbox 360 exclusive and not backward compatible games will be affected (~ 220 games)
xbox live was my JAM back in HS
soooo sooo many fun memories with friends and my first real online friends were through xbox live
i remember my avatar is still the big daddy suit with a ton of indie games from xbox live like lazer wars or castleminer z to other stuff.
sad to see it go but tbh i can see it happening
