That only for Xbox series X/S and not all games from them consoles are backwards compatible.
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backward-compatibility
The games aren't the point; people like the console and how it looks, the dashboard, and more.
I hope one day they make a console that has the Xbox logo on the front and on the sides but the sides glow green with a RGB control setting to turn it off or on and a midnight black case, but honestly, I don't care the 360 store is going away; I'm used to Xbox, Ubisoft, and Playstation doing this; it's nothing new.
Also, some of those games don't have online support because the developers don't plan to add it back to games that were once dead.
People just don't want to change the batteries. Do you know how annoying it was to buy batteries each time? So people found a trick to make it wired by just using the long charger cable, which works for all Xbox consoles. Rechargeable batteries are better, and it's better not to take them out because if you get game rage, the batteries can fall out.
If the controller doesn't have a battery pack and needs a cord to be charged, I'm pretty sure they know about them. Playstation and Xbox have rechargeable battery packs with batteries you can't take out as well. All I'm saying is that rechargeable battery packs are better but everyone's opinion is different.
Welcome to the party (:
Yeah, however, if the game is online only and they shut down the 360 online network, then you won't be able to play that game anymore, but according to this post, they are only shutting down the 360 store to buy games and stuff digitally. I'm not sure why the OP didn't include the link, but here it is.

I made a post on Reddit about this, and one guy was surprised about there not being enough backlash like the PS3 store
Looking at the marketplace now, it just isn’t how it used to be. Hell Microsoft doesn’t even sell the OG halo games. There are also games that you can’t buy anymore, due to licenses or some other reason.
Sony probably still sells all their exclusives on the PS3 store and it without a doubt draws in more money.
Most of the 360 games I care about are backwards compatible anyways, and I don’t even have a 360 because my brother sold it to my cousins instead of my parents.
But the PS3 store is only accessible using a PS3 so I can’t fact check
