Why not get a separate stand. The one's made for printers would work.

I really don't have the space, I've got 3 computers and a stereo in here. :winter2019happybulb:
You can shelve them too as long as you buy heavy duty supports. I've done it before, quite recently.
My PC is also on my desktop. I cannot see the pretty RGB lights if it is on the floor and below my desk.
I have it on my desk, and i anticipated future problems with cooling and airflow. So i just drilled some holes in my desk.

I need one that can support my glorious American heft if you know what I mean. It supports up to 450 pounds so I can only use it before lunch sadly.

I was thinking a hammock cradle for a docked laptop that you can hang off the edge of the desk.

The one I used for years was a bit more complicated than that, since I used a mesh fabric for ventilation, and had to glue the ends together in a loop.

oh no, I meant sitting in a hammock is a comfy lap top postion cause you are almost like a v if you get in the center. I keep trying to game in my hammock and I just fall asleep too cozy and comfy
ummm where else im supposed to have my desktop pc on?

The higher up position and/or at least having a solid platform underneath, protects the PC from gathering dust.

You should not have a PC placed directly upon carpet, as the dust is drawn up from the underneath PSU (power supply unit) fan and clogs or overheats the PC with time. If you want it at ground level, at least have it on a slightly raised solid/stable platform. Make sure that platform won't rock either.

I can put the laptop on the floor, but that's not comfortable for me.
Am I supposed to carry it around?

laptops always have really bad cooling, that's why typical laptops are not great for gaming. you need a cooler under it pushing cold air into the casing reducing the heat build up, or at the very least cancelling some of the effect out. you can use it for listening to music, playing videos and using the office software, but demanding games with just your legs? how badly do you want crispy leg for lunch?
no, your computer isn't a vaccuum cleaner. if you leave it on the ground, all the dirt from the ground will end up inside your case. great way to kill your pc.

i welded an end table out of steel for my office pc, too.

"leave"?
is the implication that it is "left" after use and should be put away somewhere when not in use?
like in a closet or cupboard or something and taken out again to be put on the desk next time it is used?
