Anyone else hate minesweeper?
Why did that used to come with every version of windows? How is it fun?

I never saw anything fun about it.

But solitare, free cell, sim tower, yeah those were fun.

I found a version of Minesweeper on the App Store called “Globesweeper”, a couple weeks back. It’s minesweeper, but instead of being a flat square the game takes place on a three-dimensional globe, and you can customize the parameters of the game, like the shape of the spaces (triangle, square, or hexagon), the number of spaces and the density of the bomb count.

I played a Hexagon board with max bomb density, max board size. There were around 3,000 bombs on the board at the begging of the game (compared to roughly 100-200 in normal Minesweeper at max board size).

I opened and flagged every single tile, over the course of nearly two hours of playtime. I got to the very end, and I had mis-flagged 2 empty tiles as bombs. There was absolutely no way of figuring out which two beyond going through and checking every single hex and its surrounding numbers to verify that the right amount are flagged.

I deleted the app.

Not my favorite game for sure, but still a decent classic to play when you really have nothing to do (and when you don’t choose Chrome Dino 😁

I mean on class ,It is the big deal... if you are on the computer room...

Like you do not have anything else to play during class and most websites are just blocked by the school internet :steambored:

But yeah the game itself is total garbage...

I remember playing minesweeper on windows 3.1.

It's not a super engaging game but it's better then nothing.

Minesweeper is equal parts clever geometric/mathematical deduction and dumb luck, so I equally love and hate it.
