No but trying to say there isn't a bar and they're all the same is naive at best...
People will still be talking about "Goodfellas" for years to come.. when they've long forgot 98% of the movies made in the last ten years... that's just the facts, if you want to believe it or not
i love seeing films about italians shooting people and each other and saying spagetti a lot (no, seriously, why is pasta such a huge point in these films?)

More money down the drain...
And you continue to deflect and derail this thread... it was explained if you like it or not. /replies
seems they're in so much deep ♥♥♥♥ and debt they can't afford to pay off enough politicians and lobbyists to extend the patents.
Well not only that but they're pretty well in a catch 22...
They ( Dismaly ) got famous off of either non-copyrighted or expired copyrighted material... that they just used or modified just enough not to be copyright struck themselves...
So... if they lobby politicians sure they can cover their own... assists...
But... then someone else could hold on to copyrighted material longer themselves... which means they have to either purchase said material... or just make something new themselves.
Since they can only remake and repeat... they're now forced to use their own material again... which is why there's so many remakes and re-boots of what they already did... or purchase it, Star Wars, Marvel, etc... and that gets expensive fast... especially when running up against the likes of Amazon that has almost if not deeper pockets then they do.
Or they would have creative new things... but they can't come up with something on their own at all...
So they might extend "steam boat mickey" but then miss out on something that has fallen out of copyright but might still have a audience they can fool into thinking they're out to build on... when all they really want is warm bodies to pay money for their twisted and warped version of it.
Disney paid off politicians to change copyright rules long ago. All they have to do is release a limited DVD copy of things they own. Restores the copyright for decades.
Years ago they released a complete collection of all Disney movies. Like, literally everything. Even included stuff like 'Song of the South' and 'Der Fuehrer's Face'. Was limited to less than 1000 copies. Copyrights restored!
FOX already layed out a message that Disney is going to return FOX Studios back to FOX.
They've no idea what they are doing wrong. They've no idea why they are losing money. Even though it's completely and totally obvious to the public.
Well there is talk about Dismaly selling things off to stay afloat...
The real question would be A. Can FOX afford it? and B. Would they want it?
Right now... it's pretty much damaged goods... from the actual comics to the movies it's toast.
