So now the Ubisoft account inactive removing is getting confusing?

So if you don’t know Ubisoft are removing accounts if they are inactive for “too long” making it unable to play there games on steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo switch. What’s been happening is people are getting official emails from Ubisoft saying that your Ubisoft account is suspended for being inactive for a while and to talk to support if you don’t want the account to be delete after 30 days . What’s gets confusing though is supposedly they say they will remove you account if it’s been inactive for 4 years yet some people got there Ubisoft account removed for inactive after 1 year or 6 months.

Microsoft is buying up companies just like the banks saving other banks.

They're scared if they don't buy blizzard the world order will change.

Then many don't ask why they make remakes.

EA been criticized for deleting the old version of Mass effect and enforce their platform.

Any business model depending on giving old pair of shoes instead of selling new pair of shoes would be closed by the consumers not buying.

If Ubi deletes old, empty and inactive accounts, I don't see the issue. Every service with accounts does that. I can't use certain mail addresses I had in the past because of it. Heck, even Valve has done it in the past.

You're just there for the data- gathering

We'll know how many and how many hours they play etc and then they use this data to prove the institute that this is what people want.

Closed account invent new people as they invent clones of people when the account is closed.

The thing is : how many AAA companies are gonna do the same thing when they'll see they can get away with it ? Rebuy your games.

More more worrying when you'll see the last 5 year-ish where everyone is bought by something or another, nearing to a future monopoly the more times passes. Indie games are a thing that is going strong right now, let's keep it that way.

All of those "always online" requisites, for example, are not feasible were I live, for starters...

PS: I still own my old CDs for many games. Its not like I'm going to throw them away. I just don't buy new games.

Pretty sure the 1 Ubisoft IP worth caring about (Rayman) doesn't have any games on steam that are connected to their weird launcher, so yay. Nothing of value is being lost.

I log in daily to ubisoft.

Not concerned.

Keep in mind they'll only close accounts with 0 purchases in it.

If you bought anything it'll still stay up no matter how long it was since the last log-in.

I guess news websites prefer clickbait and omit important information rather than actually do their own research.
