Should cheating be illegal?
In my opinion, yes.

Aside from the obvious betrayal of trust and initial ♥♥♥♥ feeling, it can be horrible for the victim's confidence, mental health, and can affect the way they view the opposite sex negatively. Cheating also tends to be a repeating behavior in those who practice it, rather than a one off occurrence, meaning being charged for it and having it on a cheater's criminal record would protect people from accidentally becoming the next victim.

I believe you're expecting too much of people in general. Most of the people on earth have zero spiritual essence, understanding and compassion about them. I'd also like to live in a perfect world like you describe but people are animals at the end of the day
Absolutely! Unless they're only using it in Single-Player for their own entertaining use and are not harming any real players by abusing them.

No. While I think it's a morally wicked thing to do, I still don't think it should be illegal. People have the right to cheat even though they shouldn't. Assuming you're talking about cheating in relationships.

Cheaters cannot communicate honestly due to fear of the consequences and a lack of trust. I don't believe I've been cheated on in the past but they are easy to spot as people.

lol i cheat all the time come arrest me bro
Chaosolous Jul 23, 2023 @ 8:29am
Absolutely not.

Cheating is abhorrent and you should respect your partner if you’ve chosen to be in a exclusively committed relationship.

It’s definitely not a crime though. Wanting it to be is pretty petty and pathetically indignant.

wait this is about infidelity? i thought it's about vidya games

Nope, but ofcourse it can be crushing. You trusting your date or partner and it all turned out to be a lie for example. I once had a girl I really liked. We had a relationship for a couple of months. Turned out she lied about everything: No twin sister, no child, no canker, no returning cancer, etc. I was naieve back then.

It took me a couple of years to trust a date/female again. I always feel horrified if a girl tell me about her past, cause I still believing it's not true and she made it up, lol.

I should remind all of you that we charge people for things such as theft, a similar case where you betray moral code and trust for your own benefit by not paying for something, yet nobody actually gets physically harmed if you steal something. You don't necessarily have to physically harm or risk physically harming another person to commit a crime, therefore since cheating is so abhorent it should be illegal.

Theft hurts businesses and avoids taxes. Affecting economies. It also deals in property loss. It’s not illegal because it hurts the owners feelings.

Narcissists (99% of cheaters) rarely go punished for the mental suffering they inflict on others, its only the silly ones who get violent that are usually obvious. It is a dumb world

No. Cheating is of course abhorrent, but I dont think we can legislate morality in that manner.

They are not at all comparable.

Theft has a strict definition. Some people see looking at porn while in a relationship as cheating. Your hurt feelings does not mean something should be illegal.

Cheating can cause trust issues not to mention poor mental health is a liability not just for the individual but for whoever they are working for as an unhappy worker just isn't as productive as a motivated worker. You can already get charged for verbal abuse of a child, yet all it does is hurt their feelings (apparently).
