Don't blame the voice actor being a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman.
Well, that is just another story...
But yeah...I watched a couple clips and highlights and the english Ash... Well, she is not that horrible, I understand the difficulties and limitations with malw roles in her case but sounds weird, sounds like a girl with throatache... I only know her from a WolfeyVGC video where he invited her for a real life nuzlocke v:
I get it, English speakers will appreciate more her role, but I see nothing to appreciate here in this case and I barely watched Pokémon on english 🤷
However , japanese Ash was also voiced by a woman and she clearly did it better, and sounded more like a male, so honorable mentions to her, despite not knowing her name because I did not check it...
Maybe Japan trains them better?? 🤷
As for the spanish (península) ash did Ash better than the english one ,but same thing as the japanese Ash, did not check his name so no idea who made the role... 🤷
For some reason Disney Channel are the only ones here putting credits on the voice actors doing the dub in spanish but other channels do not do it, is a nice detail but seems interesting to me considering Disney is ahmmm Disney...
Even south american ash sounds better 🤷
Absolute loser outshined by most of the other ♥♥♥♥ characters. Its hard to root for him and the story heavily fails for you to have any reason to really.
Because its Anime, everyone and everything is poorly wrote.
He is a pathetic, unlikable, sad and depressing loser AND a stupid Gary Stu at the same time.
Well not exactly, he is just a stupid andpathetic and completely unlikable loser except the final episode of that show completely destroy everything it built in the first ten (increasingly intriguing and engfaging) episodes just to portray him as a Gary Stu and turn him all of a sudden into a supernatural god or something like that in a completely undeserved way.
The only remotely interesting and engaging thing about him, the feeling he has for his lost father, are just hinted a couple of times and never developede in any way.
Other than that he is just a pathetic, awful and unlikable character who is not even actually the main character even if he is (you would need to watch that show to understand what I mean but I do not recommend you to do so, even if the first ten episodes seems good, during episode 11 you clearly feel that thereis something wrong and episode 12 completely ruins everything)
oh god, ♥♥♥♥ meli. why does the king, a fat ugly ♥♥♥♥ pretending to be a kid hate meli but not ban? its ban who invaded his home and took his rank. not meli. also he claimed a baby was his wife...
that actually makes him a good character.
sure, he's dumb, naive and often risks the fate of the world, but he's also kind, good hearted and merciful.
that's not an example of "worst protagonists" even if you hate him, there are much worse
i rarely torture myself with bad anime so my pick would be the depressed girl of Watamote (I.E not my fault im no popuar)
she is just a horrible mispresantation of what social anxiety and depression is, she is terrified of basic human interactions to the point of absurdity but it's not done in a funny way at all
