Which national anthem do you love the most?

I do love the French La Marseillaise, but especially the older "Le Chant du départ" that was the anthem during the revolutionary period, plus the Napoleonic era.

My personal favorites are Japan and ROC/Taiwan, as I personal link to both places, they are memorable, short and to the point, and I can actually sing them!

On the other hand, for the longer musical fancy ones, I would have to give my nod to Russia/URSS. And unlike the other two above - or a few others out there - is unquestionably about the country, unlike Japan which is about the Emperor, and ROC's which is about the foundation of the republic, which does not even exist anymore outside of Taiwan.

For the long poetic ones I love the Brazilian one, very few repeating verses and so long that it is always horribly cut in events lol.

Hmm - i don´t like most national anthems, because they have lyrics (which are either stupid, or nowadays in best cases sarcastic) - even if some melodies are nice.

So let´s go with one of the few without them.
It´s the oldest republic worldwide, probably it´s also the oldest European country.

Certainly not my country England. I'm not a royalist, I don't give a carrot about the king nor do I want to sing about saving him. I hate the anthem, should be Rule Britannia or Land of Hope and Glory, much MUCH better songs for an anthem.
