Titanic (1997)
What do you think of this movie? I think it is the greatest love story ever told on film.

It also begins like a run of the mill VN in the first half and then turns into Half-Life in the water in the second half. The special effects are amazing too.

By the way, it is later understood that Titanic wasn't split in two COMPLETELY above ocean waters, contrary to what happened in the movie.

On surface, Titanic started to break from upper floors but sank WITH the bow section due to the "not yet broken apart" lower double-bottom which was very resistant compared to other structures. After being swallowed on an angle (like in the FIRST Titanic movie) the iron behemoth continued to break apart in its journey to 3800 meters deep. Passing halfway through the journey, the stern section finally broke apart from the leading Bow section. This was found after analyzing WHOLE debris from the Titanic shipwreck site. Thousands of pieces are placed within a 3D Computer program and it is deduced that had the split happened on surface, the debris on the bottom of the ocean would have been more than 2 times wider.

And a final word;

NEVER dare to challenge God. It ends in debris.
The rumor that the ship was unsinkable or that "god couldn't sink it" first appeared in the 20's and a lot of historians don't think anyone ever claimed it unsinkable. The captain did say something along the lines of not being able to think of a situation that would cause it to sink but that's not the same as saying it couldn't be sunk, plus the close call with Olympic not long before meant that it very much could sink. And even if it were true God would need to be fairly petty to claim thousands of lives just because of what the manufacturers said.

Also not sure what you meant by "the first Titanic movie" but there were several before the 1997 one.
I liked it. Can't say there was anything I found weird or bad in it, but I've also never seen it more than one time. And it was before the year 2000 so, well, memory isn't what it used to. :P
I love Titanic (1997). Yeah, I cried at the end the first time I watched it. I think James Cameron did a great job.

The poor, smart, adventurous, talented boy gets the girl. And the two were going to go places in life. But then the unthinkable happened and the poor boy's character was put on display.

However, my favorite love story is Casablanca:

Watched it once and it was once too many.
I have never seen it, but I know it sinks.
It was great for what it was; nude-scene, seeing the interior submerge, and the guy hitting the propeller.

I agree. If you wanted actual historical facts A Night To Remember was the better movie. Now we will possibly have Titanic Honor and Glory (originally Honour and Glory) to release in a year or three once Demo 401 is actually completed and released to Steam.

I just watched Britannic a few days ago and honestly I'm not sure it it was.
i admit... i have never seen it "complete"... the ship is sinking, isn't it?!
Never seen it. Not my type of movie.
My favourite part is the soundtrack.

But its James Horner so I don't know how much of it is original work because Horner was known to reuse compositions an awful lot.
I think it's okay 50/50, the love stories and such are cringe so I don't like it, but the adventure is okay.
