Is it rly that incorrect to say "I have to reload the phone"??
So like when you have like a low battery on phone and you go to put the cable on it so that does not die and you say "I have to reload the phone" v:

Like is it really that incorrect to say "I have to reload the phone"? 🤷

Sounds like something boomers would say.

I like seeing the cellphone users sitting on the floor near plugs charging them in public places, it's as fun as watching pigeons or seagull's steal food

Whats about: I've to reload my phone?

English is a merciless language - one wrong letter and you're on the hit list. 😜

If you say "I have to reload my phone" people will probably know what you mean, but it is an odd way to say it.

see, my first thought was that they meant restart it

Jokes aside, I understand the op's confusion.

Charge and load are synonyms (same meaning) in certain languages, but not in English. So yeah, it's incorrect.

as flippin weird as american english can be, i am surprised that we don't use it like that :ws_daman:

Somewhere out there a rural individual with a lot of time on their hands has infact modified their phone to fire bullets. Just to see if they can.

Highly doubt it :steambored:

Well, at least something efficient and that works v:

Reload your phone? Do you take out the battery and put a full one in? That is kinda funny now that I think about it. Tactical recharge :P

No I never removed a battery :steambored:

Reload sounds like you have to add minutes to a prepay phone. Recharge your phone means to recharge the battery.

charge the phone m8

you generally reload a firearm, or a program on a computer. you don't 'reload' a phone. the usage of the word is incorrect in english.

you can 'charge' a 'phone' and you can 'charge' a magazine, or a rifle. but cannot 'reload' a phone, despite 'charge' and 'reload' being synonym in language.

there's a lot of intrinsic rules that don't make sense in english, and honestly i'm glad to have it as a primary language. otherwise i likely would never have learned it.

i respect the journey, op. i think if english wasn't my first language i'd rather learn japanese or mandarin first lol.

unless it's a samsung... then you might 'reload" it.

That explains why some people act so aggressively when they reload a page in the browser.

He's referring to the Matrix Reloaded phone not the explosive nature of the note series.
You could reload the phone battery like a firearm.
