It has the added bonus of preventing the deceptive post-publishing editing practices that aforementioned propaganda rags utilize when they've been called out for being blatantly dishonest. Can't edit an archive - unless you've got the resources to make the Internet Archive bend the knee, in which case you're probably someone I hate.
Not you, specifically, but those who use litigation in such a manner to facilitate lying through their teeth.
the ads on youtube are ridiculous though. i fall asleep watching youtube videos and one night there was a weird 2 and a half hour long ad that was a countdown of a game getting released or something. and that same ad came up multiple times in the video

Like money does not grow from tree and these services are free so ads are pretty much a requirement... There is just not other way for these platforms to make money, nobody is going to ever pay for a platform to watch vídeos so there is no other viable way to do so...
I would understand the kid of 8 yo that lives above me complaining about YouTube ads, but not someone from gen x generation that understands (or should at least) basic economics
