uh oh looks like you're using an adblocker
uh oh looks like i'm not interested in your site after all
You can get around a lot of that by using archiving tools - especially if it's some quote unquote "journalistic" site that pulls that manner of nonsense. Just use something like archive.today and voila!

It has the added bonus of preventing the deceptive post-publishing editing practices that aforementioned propaganda rags utilize when they've been called out for being blatantly dishonest. Can't edit an archive - unless you've got the resources to make the Internet Archive bend the knee, in which case you're probably someone I hate.

Not you, specifically, but those who use litigation in such a manner to facilitate lying through their teeth.
Adblock, sponserblock, mute volume
That's the neat part: I don't!
i just wait and try to press the skip ad button as fast as i can, like I'm doing a speedrun

the ads on youtube are ridiculous though. i fall asleep watching youtube videos and one night there was a weird 2 and a half hour long ad that was a countdown of a game getting released or something. and that same ad came up multiple times in the video
Brave browser ftw.
It used to be the case that by refreshing the browser sometimes the ad on youtube would just go away. Not entirely sure that happens anymore. What grinds my gears is that I'm trying to find one small sound-byte or short video but for "algorithm reasons" it presents me with an teaser ad thats over an hour long and they won't reveal "their secret" unless you visit their site. Thats literally hijacking my time and wasting it.
uBlock. Sponsor-Block.

Never seen a single ad since 4 1/2 years.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by intrusive?
i dont react, i just get a better adblocker or update mine, lol.

I stop using a service if it has to run intrusive ads to survive.
youtube'rs need add's to make money
Idk why so much complaining...

Like money does not grow from tree and these services are free so ads are pretty much a requirement... There is just not other way for these platforms to make money, nobody is going to ever pay for a platform to watch vídeos so there is no other viable way to do so...

I would understand the kid of 8 yo that lives above me complaining about YouTube ads, but not someone from gen x generation that understands (or should at least) basic economics :steambored:

This is the most ridiculous complain, like seriously...

ok, explain to me how youtube advertsing industrial mining equipment to me is in any way 'economical' for anyone except youtube?
Middle finger to the screen.
