No idea why the Lithuanian article I linked ranked them so low.
Neither do i. They have excellent quality of life, "good enought" administration, not much in term of threats or even civil unrest, "sufficient" industry ... by my own standards, it's a nice country to live in and get old in.

I'm not spamming or trolling, it's called responding. If you don't want to be part of the conversation you don't have to be, just carry on about your day.

on topic, i dont know why Lithuania is so low in that scale tbh.
i would also say us because we elected that clown boi for a prime minister all over lol not because of kebabs, he is something equivalent to Macron basically

Russia, most of its population are European and living on the European transcontinental side. Each system they are introducing are getting corrupted at the end and new trauma begins.

Nah it definitely wasn't lol. The article is specifically comparing the utilization of public data for European countries and how they use that data to benefit it's populace. Which is a fairly new concept itself. There's also no real data provided and only describes the organizations responsible for the initiative and the areas countries were ranked, not how or what data they were ranked on. The whole thing is pretty disingenuous to be presented the way it is.

Ahem, Russia is an Asian country.

Lithuania scored 37 out of 100 points in the first-ever survey and is ranked the last in the region, alongside Greece and Malta, Transparency International Lithuanian Chapter said on Wednesday.

Lithuania received the lowest score on the availability and use of data on companies (seven out of 100). In this area, Lithuania is the worst performer among all EU countries assessed, ranking 26th in the region, the report reads.

The Global Data Barometer looks at the data governance, capacity, accessibility and use of data for the public good in 109 countries across a range of thematic areas. It’s an initiative of Data for Development (D4D.net) and ILDA.

no we're definitely lower than Lithuania, specially for transparency issues, you see this government just allowed the whole country to burn during the summer just so they could go solar and wind power turbines all over the place due to contracts

I just meant it wasn't about kebabs. Like I said, the whole article is pretty disingenuous to be presented this way in the first place and I'm sure given the right data set or time frame you could make similar arguments about any country, not just a European one.

In all fairness, I don't really even see a purpose in rankings such as this other than to try and create or reinforce division between countries.

You can keep insisting on that, but it still doesn't change the fact that Russia is also a European country. Besides the previously mentioned fact that 75% of the Russian population lives in the European portion, it also accounts for 40% of Europe's landmass and 15% of Europe's population. This alone would make just its European portion both the largest and most populous country in Europe. Additionally both its official capitol, Moscow, and its (as it is commonly recognized) cultural capitol, Saint Petersburg, both lie within Europe.

it is disingenuous this is true, but still i think this article may provide some food for thought as well, in the sense that ok even if such metric doesn't wholy describe the situation, eh it does have some small fragment of truth, tiny though but its there, at least for where i live haven't been to Lithuania. Have been to Malta though couple times it was lovely lol

but yes i would agree that it does cultivate a sense of division
