I started out with Socom 2 way back around when it released. Maybe it's just the nostalgia talking, but it's still my all time favorite game ever

Would you believe i'm getting into that...now lol. Back then for me on PS2 it was strictly WW2. I had every WW2 game. But when the covid lockdowns happened, i took out my old PS2, bought some Socom games from Amazon, great stuff. And cant even play mp lol.

That's awesome! Every once in a blue moon I decide to boot it up still and play some of the campaign.

It's nice to own the physical disk and all that so you can go back and play it whenever you want. Digital is convenient (and most of my stuff is digital these days), but physical copy if you can is the way to go imo

Also, I've heard of ways to play online again in 2023 but there's probably not many doing it

Sonic and Crash bandicoot. They both share the title for some of the earliest games I ever saw/played, and they defined my taste forever.

Too bad only 1 of them gets good games now and the other one is crash.

Mass Effect I love that series except for maybe Andromeda, that one blows. But had they not changed the story from what was hinted at in the second game it would have been even better.

Pokémon. With S/V going open-world and being a buggy mess, however, I may give up on the main series. I don't have any confidence that the next main game is going to be less of a mess.

Pokemon came around later. And mario didn't really have much character early on, you could argue he still doesn't.

A lot of the old games I liked died out, like road rash. Or just went bad like Maxis Sims games.

I don't even play pokemon anymore.... not since dexit. I'm so disgusted by modern games trying to rip me off that I almost entire play old games that kept updating to current year.
