I always thought physical contact with the nut had to be made. You're saying peanut allergies are air borne as well?

Yup, it can. That's why restaurants that use peanut products (sa Five Guys) put big signs on their doors to warn people with nut allergies. It's why airlines can no longer serve honey-roasted peanuts.

There are different levels of nut allergy reactions though.

So far as I'm aware, that's not true for the meat allergy. And, to my knowledge, it's only for beef. Not chicken or fish.

Five Guys is so peanut infested, someone with an acute allergy would probably instantly die just from opening the door
