I have two phones. The landline phone, I have no idea when I even got that... it's old. Several decades.

The "Smartphone" is rather new -- about 3 years or so. Again, it's the first one.

So, come to think of it... haven't replaced a phone yet.

It was 5+ years old, and I wanted something that supports 5ghz wifi and has a better camera

Prior to my current phone, the last time I owned a phone was 2004, back then, I had 3 phones, my personal mobile, work mobile and an on-call mobile. When I quit the job that I had at that time, I returned my work phones and sold my personal phone and cancelled the contract.

The only reason I ended up getting a new phone, was covid, so I could stay in touch with my mother.

It slowly started to die, the sound was getting worse. Got new one.

Still used the old one, it's hotspot feature actually allowed my dsi to connect to it. Did some gen 4 wifi pokemon battles with a friend that way back in 2021.

It was 7 years old, the battery didn't last a full day anymore and I found a great deal for a new one. The old one makes for a good enough backup phone for now, just in case.

It's gone so far away from me before I change to a new one.
The phone is Chinese brand called chicken dungeon.

My LG Tribute just up and decided one morning that it would no longer connect to wireless or cellular networks. Probably planned obsolescence, so I got a Pixel 3 instead. So far the Pixel is working, but it starting to require regular reboots in order to keep from locking up.

It was an old $40 phone I bought a long time ago. It was dated when I bought it and hardly worked.

New phone is better but still a bit dated. I use a phone until it’s literally impossible anymore, then I wait a month or two and go buy a new one.
