Are You Unable To Leave Games Unfinished?
Are you the type of person that starts a campaign, but cannot leave that campaign unfinished? Even if it means 100+ hours? Can you leave a *story* unfinished?

I tend to be if I like the game.

I don't play games that have campaigns... I usually play open world games or games that have "matches" so the longest I'll be playing is maybe an hour ( for like a good Arma3 K.O.T.H. match )

As someone with ADHD, I think I've finished like 2 games in my whole life.

I am engaged in the act of buying games. I perform the act of playing such games over an indeterminate period of time. If I find the games to be of an enjoyable nature, the average playtime would be approximately 50 hours. However, if the opposite is true and the game is of a lesser quality, the total playtime would proportionally decrease by an equal measure. The completion of the game is of no concern to me, as the journey itself matters more to me than the destination.

Only applies to the achievements of games I really like.

Though come to think of it, I did drop Persona 5 on Steam despite finishing it on PS4 multiple times. Burn out I guess.

Most of the time, especially in multi-player.

What about a story? Can you guys leave those unfinished? Say you're 20 hours in, can you just drop it if you start getting a tiny bit bored?

Yes, I have a couple of story games I have not finished in years.

I am the opposite. I play the game until I basically see everything The game has to offer, and get bored of it. Then I feel like I need a new game. I have so many unfinished video games...

I buy a game, play it for a couple hours stop playing it go to the next game do the same thing,

Eventually I slowly finish them.

The bad ending of The Witcher 3 wouldn't have crushed me so bad if I followed that advice ages ago.

Game of Thrones? I don't see why everyone was so devastated by that season.

"Hey fam! Just letting you know, this will be the shortest season ever, two episodes less, look at all these loose ends we aren't going to tie up! Two wars to fight, a lot of character arcs. All gonna go in the dumpster!"

I hate to be the "I knew it" guy, but I totally knew that there was no way that season was going to live up to the rest of the show. I don't see why people were surprised.

I generally finish the games I play. But, when a game stops being enjoyable for me, I drop the game. I never finished Fallout 3 or Oblivion because I burned out on them way before the ending, for example. I dropped Resonance of Fate because it became too grindy.

And yes, I can leave a story unfinished. When I do, it means the story wasn't interesting enough for me or other issues with the game were too much of a burden.

I finished Fallout 3. It was like 10 years ago so I don't remember the story very well. What I do remember is the ending leaving a really bad taste in my mouth and me saying "I will never replay this again".

Oblivion... Yeah, I also didn't finish it! I acknowledge it as a good game, but I don't think it has aged super well, it would need a lot of fleshing out for me to finish it. Cross our fingers for Skyblivion I guess.
