I also have to add Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 2003 to the list, because of obvious reasons. It was/is an iconic game which still has a wide community after 20 years!

The original command and conquer series I spent a lot of time on and enjoyed a lot. (C&C, C&C Red Alert 1 and 2, C&C Tiberian Sun in particular.)

It's a shame, a lot of those do no longer work on nowadays modern hardware, or do work with some issues. And some of them can't even be bought anymore, like Need for Speed The Run.. At least, as far as I know..

Though NFS: The Run is from 2011 (therefore not inside the time period OP wrote), it is always nice to see its name somewhere around in internet.

Yes, it is hard to buy the game nowadays. Back in 2015, i bought its dvd retail version in a huge mall. I love those boxes. After many many years, it is special to touch them and feel my memoirs inside them. For collectors, big game studios should continue to sell those retail game boxes.

I still have the game on its DVD, literally a meter away from me on the shelf..
I do miss the times when we were buying physical copies instead of the digital copies that can be anytime taken from us..
