I don't wike honey.
A lot of people really seem to like honey.

Personally, I have never been a fan of honey. It is not really that sweet to me and tastes more bitter to me. I would still eat it alongside green tea or oatmeal, but more so out of variety.

That being said, I do thoroughly enjoy maple syrup (real maple syrup, not the manufactured copycats).

What do you think of honey?

I live in the United States of America. I've tried different brands from Nature's Nates to Gunter's to Local Hive (Wildflower) to Nice!. My opinion still hasn't changed much.
There's your problem right there. The US of A. I doubt you can find honey that doesn't have added sugar.

If you want to test it, buy some jars of honey. Transfer the honey in new jars and seal them. If it doesn't crystallise after a few months, then it has added sugar.

Another tip for spotting fake honey. Let it drip slowly out of the the jar. Also move the jar up and down at a slow-medium pace while doing this. You should get a continuous stream of honey. If the stream gets interrupted then it has added sugar.

Outside of raising the bees yourself and making honey, good luck finding honey without added sugar in the US of A.
Wrong.

Why is this honey so expensive?
Is Manuka a rare plant?

Its more expensive because it is exclusive to NZ and Australia and because producing it costs more than other honeys apparently.

But there is nothing inferior about the planets or bees.

I personally think Manuka is good honey, sure ! But I would prefer local forest honey over it any day !
wtf? honey isn't exclusive to NZ and australlia... there are plenty of people where I am who produce honey and sell it at farmers markets... one of my neighbours has bees FFS.

also maple syrup... it's all over... and it's still stupidly expensive...
also water... lots of that all over here... still stupidly expensive in a bottle.

it's like the second something goes into a bottle it becomes worth more than it's actually worth...

Manuka Honey is exclusive to NZ and Australia due to the unique plants in this region probably.

I also think it is overhyped ! As said, I prefer local forest honey. Because I know where it comes from, it tastes great and knowing its from plants I possibly walked past is pretty cool.
well "mad honey" is really expensive too... but it doesn't represent honey as a concept.

Not sure what you mean.
If you mean t hat Manuka is overpriced, then yes. I agree.
On the other hand, I assume the long export way makes it also more expensive.

I rather give psychadelic honey from Colombia a try :)
have you seen these crazy mofos tho? hanging from rope ladders?!
