So I looked it up. Oh yeah, I see what's happening here. This is some closeted alcoholic stuff. Laughing my ass off. "Magical powers induced by the consumption of alcohol" ? ? ? They've really dove deep to find an excuse to keep the bottle around, I... I can't believe this is really a theory, this is just too much.

It's real. Not really reliable and difficult to target, but it's definitely a real range you pass through and can try to maintain. It'll vary by day and by person. You can try to replicate it with other things like kava, phenibut (not recommended), cacao, sucrose, etc. The actual pharmacology of what's going on is probably complex, some of it is blood sugar spike, some of it getting the conscious mind out of the way / flow state and hyperfocus, some of it is increased lateral and looser thinking. So you can try to replicate it with other combinations. Ethanol will gradually flood your brain with ammonia, acetylaldehyde, salsolinol and other condensation products, and so it can't be maintained.

It's not a matter of belief imo. The influence of alcohol on art, culture, creativity, etc is pretty well established and easy to personally verify.

Absolutely not. Caffeine reduces blood flow to the brain, you're making a sacrifice to sharpen a small subset of your faculties. Cacao is far better, and contrary to popular belief doesn't contain caffeine in relevant quantities. You have ginseng, rhodiola, gotu kola, ginkgo biloba, ashwagandha, shatavari, essential oils (trigger word warning), celastrus paniculatus, guayusa and yerba mate (better caffeine), guarana seed, and many more. Coffee is capable of a lot but I consider it to be mediocre quite honestly.
