am I the only one that hates miracle whip mayo?
Don't get me wrong, miracle whip is good for making things like potato salad, but I can't stand miracle whip on sandwiches.

It´s also not good for potato salad. It´s like taking bad wine for a sauce, or anything which doesn´t taste good on it´s own as ingredient of some meal. It´s always better if You take things which taste better.

It's a sweet and spicy dressing.

Officially, Miracle Whip must be called a “dressing” because it's less than 65 percent vegetable oil, which is the official USDA standard for which condiments may be called “mayonnaise.”

I love Miracle Whip. In college, it only took two pieces of bread, a slice of turkey, and some Miracle Whip.

Well I like it on potato salad and sandwiches...

Then again... I just like regular mayonnaise... and German potato salad.

What is miracle whip even? We don't have it in New Zealand.

Why not just use some normal mayo or plain Greek yogurt instead?

1 cup greek yogurt
2 tbsp cup lemon juice
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tsp honey

Plus seasoning with salt, pepper, chives, and/or garlic, etc.

It's just mayonnaise with a few more things like, sugar, mustard, and “secrete spices” whatever that is... lol
I used to like miracle whip but I tried other mayonaise from other brand and just stopped buying Miracle whip.

Never had miracle whip, but I generally dont like mayo so I probably dont like the miracle whip mayo.

Miracle whip is not technically mayonnaise because it is too diluted with other ingredients and watered down[www.tasteofhome.com]. It is technically a dressing that uses mayonnaise as a base ingredient, similar to ranch dressing. Although people use it more like a cheaper and less fatty mayonnaise substitute, you can not use it as such in baking recipes that call for mayonnaise because it separates under heat.

But really most people buy Best Foods (A.K.A. Hellman's) and there's not really much of a reason to do otherwise, unless you want to stick it to corporations like Unilever (which owns those brands), and mayonaise is basically just three ingredients: whole room temperature eggs, vinegar (or lemon juice) and oil. Most recipes also call for mustard, which helps with emulsification, but it is optional.

You can make it on your own[therecipecritic.com], preferably using a blender or a stand mixer, although it is advisable to pasteurize the eggs first by immersing the eggs in a hot water bath at 140 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour, so you do not get sick with something like salmonella.
