Same as tall people are sometimes called long.

indeed.. just as sexuality, age, religion, race, and a 100 other things are
if a person starts to identify with a descriptor.. or starts to be offended by being called or anything said about a descriptor.. that really is cause they themselves made the mistake to glueeing their identity to their descriptor.
They're called short because they ~are~ short... choosing or not choosing has nothing to do with being called something, nor do genes...
That's not how calling something a thing works...
Describing someone as short doesn't mean you're trying to mock them. My older brother is like 6'1, maybe more; he would be described as tall.
Depends if you're a guy or girl. For a girl that's rather average.
