Is there any benefit to unregulated capitalism ?
The pendant to the other topic about the benefits of communism :p (you know the one)

More to the point, i was watching a vid on YT, this one here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgbRmFhYCVA

So, from 16:25 to 17:40 : does that description remind you of something ?

Like, the "benefits" of communism, but without the educated citizens on top of it ?

IS AMERICA SECRETELY COMMUNIST ? :O
Your thoughts.

EDIT : re-post here from post 21 because it is fun to my eyes and i want to share it :

Better than strict communism.

Greed is good.

We would still be living in small communities in the ancient era otherwise.
No. None. It must be regulated. Right now about 10 people in the USA own/control 1/2 the countries wealth. The same is happening worldwide. That is always going to happen with no constraints. That is how Capitalism works.
People like to claim that Capitalism has crested a wealthy country. I think we created the brand new, well off, middle class even though Capitalism tried to prevent it. And now the middle class is being destroyed by unrestrained Capitalism.
The wealth gap gets wider.
It's all the same; those at the top will still keep getting richer, the middle class is pretty much nonexistent, and the poor keep getting poorer.

Has not always been all the same. The well off middle class was created. And thrived for a while. When "socialism" type policies were followed.

Wait, are you trying to say that the pillars of Reagan and Thatcher were wrong about their neoliberal economic policies?

There are still villages. You can try that.

An interesting graphic.

You all 4 have all some kind of "sous-entendre" that the current capitalism (worldwide or only in US ?) is already unregulated. If you're about the US, dont they have regulations and politicians and so on ? If you're about the world-wide, do you have examples of regulated capitalism as opposed as unregulated ones ? I want your opinions about that. (one easy example is the chocolate trade, where "it seems that most of the plantation and farms are using children in condtions similar to slavery" (alledgedly). As it is an easy example and i already mentioned it, please find another one, kind thanks)

But my original point is that Communism is ... "seemingly wideley understand as" (at least HERE on OT) "one small group overtaking all ruling and saying others what to do and not to do, getting massiely rich in the process while the rest of the population starves".
So, this guy in the pointed vid seems to think that what is going in the states. How is it possible that the worst ennemy of the communism ... ends with the exact same flaws that his sworn ennemy ?

Since there isn't such a thing as "unregulated capitalism" I can't really answer that....
i would recommend to stop idolizing George Carlin. He was a comedian who didn't solve problems, but mocked everyone mired in those problems.

He wasn't that funny, let alone a person to look to for actual prognosis of today's issues.

Easy example : where the law has not caught up to the technology. Or just some flaws and cracks in the law, another example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbETcSac9vg

Dont know of the guy until i looked that vid, and i was on a streak of vids about the cultural differences between countries - happens from time to time. Fact is, this guy is not the only one with that rethoric, look there are 4 peeps just above you talking about the 1% percent owning 50%. (when i was younger we talked about the 10% owning 90%. Times changes, things change, but everything remains more or less the same. Hé.)
I would recommend not assuming everyone is saying the same thing or putting words in their mouths.
Walmart buys up everything and established a communist state

Problem is, we don't have industrial capitalism. We have a plutocracy.

The 1% have more wealth than the 99% all put together.

just because people repeat the same discourse doesn't make the discourse valid, especially if repeating the same "the 1% or 10% own 50%!" rhetoric leads to apathy or worse - maintaining that status quo.
