Isn't this causing more and more alarm to internet users?

I know that internet users, gamers, forumers, etc never accepted dictatorship and manipulation so widely, and now the internet has become a fortified observation facility to spy on you, manipulate you, annoy you and simply anything other than allowing you to use it purely for what you intend.

I see people complain about a famous person's wallet balance, court case, hair style, wings, but they rarely bother to be outraged by how Internet is not an independent tech tool anymore. Hopefully I'm wrong.
