Cellphones were a cool invention they let people talk to other people from almost anywhere.

BUT! That wasn't good enough corporations wanted more, and so did governments

Enter my crazy conspiracy theory:

I've often wondered if smartphones were invented as a very soft way of getting people used to the idea of being under surveillance 24/7 without them for the most part catching onto that..

Oh for sure... cookies, tracking scripts, bots.. Marketing in general is surveillance watching what you buy, look at and what media you consume.

I just think smartphones were not a random clever invention but it was by design

Many years ago I was niave.

I thought that once we pointed out that the tech industry was capable of tremendous evil, that would start a revolt as people saw that things were going in a bad direction.

I underestimated people's stupidity and the power of addiction.

Nail on the head. Yeah, it's conditioning. Also, they're designed to be as addictive if not more so than slot machines - much like how social media is designed.

Which is to say, if you love your kids you'll monitor and limit their access and usage of these digital drugs. Either way though, Uncle Ted was right - the Industrial Revolution and it's consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

Really there are some inventions you just don't need and should probably yeet yonder into the bin.

I feel bad for your generation of ignorance. It's neither a conspiracy nor a theory. It's actually happening and has happened since the 1997 Telecommunications Act was signed removing most limits of ownership. I don't know if most posts on this forum are AI bots or shills or both to be even asking these kinds of well known things.

Again blaming the manufactures of the 'gun' instead of the person who has a sick heart misusing the gun. Isn't it a bit weird 99.9 percent of legal gun owners don't shoot other people unprovoked yet the media has a cow everytime something goes wrong?
