They're popular amongst younger audiences, but once people grow up?.. I feel like that's when they switch over to watching hlack comedies and action movies over horror ones.

The older you get and more you learn, you know that true horror requires nothing supernatural/paranormal.

I recently learned there was a movie of At Play in the Fields of the Lord.

Not sure what they were thinking, trying to make a screenplay of that. Average audiences probably wouldn't know what to make of it and either consider it a drama or a black comedy farce.

It looks like a war movie, but trust me, it's a horror movie.
Yup, I saw it on YouTube, now I no longer wish to play Fallout in real life.

It's so full of horror, that it's beautiful.

I recommend not watching at night and with something, preferably a wall, behind you

Mitsuami no Kami Sama had me shivering in bed, cuddling a balloon, and that was before I read the manga.

The underlying message that organ donation and using resources wisely is virtuous, and putting inanimate objects to use after their intended use is past is kind of undercut by the implication that the people in "the farm" don't have a choice, and might have remote kill implants to harvest them on demand.

Name a better genre? I feel like you have to be a classic rock tier boomer to not see this. There's a lot of bad horror for sure, but the good stuff ♥♥♥♥♥ all over every other genre.

Dramas, sci-fi, thrillers, comedies are all better, heck even action flicks are better.

Drama can be good, but I can't think of one that competes with the best horror has to offer. Sci-fi like Star Trek and Stargate are godtier, but too different to even compare to a horror movie, and there is also far too much reddit soy in sci-fi now. Comedy is awful, and action is good, but I dont see how any of the above are even in the same film-making league as things like Beyond the Black Rainbow and A Dark Song.

The ceiling scene in Poltergeist... Tame now but Spielberg wanted something much darker to happen. You see the start of it then it just ends.
Night Of The Comet 1984

What they don't tell you is that after the events of the film they all die anyway

Oh man, had nightmares due to its depiction of possession.

I was fine after that movie, but the modern horrors like the Conjuring are too much for me. Sometimes the trailer itself haunts me...

I'm curious about this one though:
