What is your favorite horror movie? Mine is Get Out.

They're popular amongst younger audiences, but once people grow up?.. I feel like that's when they switch over to watching hlack comedies and action movies over horror ones.

The older you get and more you learn, you know that true horror requires nothing supernatural/paranormal.

I recently learned there was a movie of At Play in the Fields of the Lord.

Not sure what they were thinking, trying to make a screenplay of that. Average audiences probably wouldn't know what to make of it and either consider it a drama or a black comedy farce.

Thanks for the memories! Oedipeus Rex was one of the few Greek tragedies we have studied in school besides the usuals like The Odyssey.

However I need suggestions
I don't want it to be so scary as to the point of potential paranoia, difficulty sleeping, screams, etc. My preferred amount is a small jump, yelp, gasp, smaller reactions.

That traumatized me as a child. But so did ET and Yoda which both were even more terrifying to me.

Poltergeist from the 80s..... Production changed part way through but you can see parts of Spielbergs original vision still left in the film... It would have been a whole lot darker.
