Angels are bad guys, not in the way however that its anything to do with the demons but in a different twist. You see the Archangels and angels have more impact on earth then demons do, however they can not directly interfer with demon lord of any kind nor their plans. Archangel Inarius went against that code of respect and created Sancturary in Diablo 3, his actions alone had him imprisoned by the demon lord Mephisto who now is his torturer and prison guard.
But his actions was not that alone, he also gave birth to a Nephalem, which from the story understand is the offspring of both a demon and angel, this was during the entire situation of the Great War: https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Eternal_Conflict
Both were seeking the World Stone, basically a LITERAL mountain sized artifact to win, only to learn that Inarius used it to create Sanctuary.
Want to know what happened the Nephalem? So do I, because depending on what you pick is who they become, you, the player, are the unequal balance to the universe, to them your player is the unequal unbalancing force that will undo everything, yet ironically that has yet to happen, the player (if you have all DLC's) even breaks at one point, into the fortress of the Angels and process to deck Diablo on the doorstep mat inside the Heavenstone throne and later goes and roflstomps the Grim Reaper, which yes sounds silly but when you accept that by lore that were both the offspring of both Angel and Demon, then we are effectively immune to any diseases or viruses or attacks they throw at us to.
Your knowledge of Diablo lore is impressive.
It's kind of amazing there are more people like me who've played thousands of hours of 2 and 3, and could tell you Jack or squat about the story, and Jack left town.
It's really one of the things that is gated to giga-nerds at this point. For me the Lore always played second fiddle to the loot table. XD
Still an interesting story but no you wont see me reading books and pestering the devs about which color are the undergarments of every characters.
Elder Scrolls comes to mind -- I've read every book in the SP games since Morrowind -- and I still know 1/1000th of what these lore-hounds know, so it's cool sometimes to watch the videos they make, and the essays they write, and even their heated arguments with other lore-meisters. It can be a fun thing to read about even if you're not so into it.
Never played EVE Online, but I sure love reading the epic stores it produces.
I'm with you on the loot table versus the lore, though. Although you won't see me breaking out a spreadsheet to get the best build.
Basically the civilization of Neph's were more or less immortal, impervious to damage outside of the demon lords and angels, due to this Lilith in fear that Inc would slaughter their kid, attacked the Angels and demons first.: https://diablo-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Purge Leading to the Purge
The Purge basically if you wish to think of it is mroe akin to a total all out war, both the first Nephs were largely killed with few surviving, this is also what sparked the war between Demons and Angels, basically the forbidden love story, turned to mommy being scared of daddy and going on a town shooting spree.
Want a fun fact? Inc and Lilith are bad guys to the player: But their also their mother and father respectfully :P
There's a company trying to make a fantasy game with the qualities of EVE but we'll see if they can capture that magic. I have doubts.
Other companies in hot water--- Bungie/343. What are you going to do? You kinda screwed up Halo Infinite and now Sony owns you. You gonna release a Halo game on PS6 that no one will care about?
Rockstar. Stop with the microtransactions. Stop making games once a decade with multiplayer plagued with cheaters.
EA. I get that you won game of the year for 2022, and you have some neat new indie projects and titles coming out. But...you're a publisher. You bought those game studios....with the blood money from endless microtransactions. You have "The Sims 5" that you could redeem yourself with, by not having *any* expansion packs, just everything that's in the entirety of all the DLC in The Sims 4, and I'll pay $80 for it. Not a cent more. Also, stop releasing sports games every year. It's a sports game. Release them as often as you release new "The Sims" games, because they're sports sims.
There's more, but I'm exhausted from typing. I got blistahs on mah fingahs
You know it will be a disaster. Diablo 3 was a HUGE disaster when it launched.
It "only" has a battlepass and "just cosmetics" right now, but i am fully expecting it to go fully pay to win 1 year after release if not just a few months.
The battlepass and "just cosmetics" is lube, getting all the paypiggies oiled up for more.
