Edit: For platformers specifically the warning "gamepad recommended" shows up. For shooters, there's no message what so ever, even though I reckon there's a significantly greater disparity between kb + M and controller when it comes to shooters. Controller users straight up need the game to help them aim.
the devs designed the game with a controller in mind.
and they really do play better than on m/kb for most simple games.
if the game is more complex and needs more binds but less movement accuracy i find kb/m to be more ideal.
They probably put that notice there because platformers are usually a lot more comfortable with controllers anyways. Easier to make small movements, the buttons are a lot closer to each other and in a more comfortable range, that sort of stuff.
Though this all comes down to personal preference. I use controllers on platformers because that's what I'm used to, having grown up as a console person (and to this day still prefer controllers over kb+m for 90% of games).
Don't get me wrng imo joypads are fun and keyboard + mouse is boring and sad (and frustrating too) but probably it is just a way to convince people to spend more money.
Probably MS just want to sell a few more joypads. You know most people will buy those on PC.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages, depending on the type of game one is playing.
Same.
