It's television programming that is brought to people through a cable or wire. Broadcasting stations have to record new stuff each year, and every year has new stuff that people can tune into, by using a television device. Occasionally stuff is broadcasted in real-time, or people may tune into a station that continually streams shows, films, pop music, sporting events, or documentaries.
There's still cable in quite a few regions on Earth.
Our main provider is Xfinity and up until a few months ago, you pretty much had to bundle, which is why I left them. Now they finally have internet only plans at around $25/mo. so joining again.
Unfortunately, fiber optic is not an option where I live as the infrastructure doesn't exist. It's either coaxial cable or wifi box, which isn't working out well right now.
Like I watch westerns, movies and series. I found out a couple months ago that I had not one, but two. I never noticed the one because I would just quickly flip past.
I am going to keep DISH for a while longer. I like just vegging out and seeing what is on.
I call BS
Yeah, that's the issue I was having until they finally got on the internet only bandwagon.
That's mainly due to them being bundled with other services for cheaper rates and contracts being 1-2 years and having high termination/cancellation fees.
Verizon always has deals for phones that also bundle in cable packages.
The regional sports networks in the US are starting to collapse due to massively overvalued rights deals, which could spell beginning of the end for cable TV because sports are one of the only things that are keeping people on cable. You can already watch a lot of sports on streaming services.
They are pivoting to gambling sites to make up for lost income. You see what MGM did with their new gambling site shilled by Jamie Foxx?
BetMGM. I'm seriously just sad...
Rivals.
