Why I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate the gym "culture".
1) To clarify something:

Gyms and that kind of exercise are nothing new and there is nothing wrong with that stuff on its' own, it's the modern "culture" and trends behind it that I hate and that's what I'm talking about.

2) Addressing the issue:

We're talking about people who make "HITTING THE GYM BRO" their entire personality, it's almost like some kind of a cult and an obsession to them and they can't stop going on about this "success" that they claim to have which comes from idiotic "social" media "influencers" such as Andrew Tate.

These people are extremely narcissist, they go on about this made-up idea of success of theirs nonstop and they treat everything like some kind of a competition when there isn't even any competition at all, like when they use stupid "terms" such as "alpha, beta, gamma, sigma" to describe themselves and others, as well as literal Nazi stuff like eugenics, but even some Stone Age kind of stuff like being at the top of a food chain and ♥♥♥♥ knows what other nonsense.

The "social" media "influencers" often talk about things like "FIGHTING DEMONS" in a gym and they treat the whole thing as if it was ♥♥♥♥ knows what kind of a heroic sacrifice in a war and how they're now immortal and fearless superhumans who completed the final main quest of life. The "followers" (that's even what they're called on "social" media and it's hilarious) can't even eat a single tiny snack without asking "WAIT, HOW MANY CALORIES???" (true story, by the way) because they're that obsessed and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up with this "success" and "perfection" that "social" media brainwashes them with.

There is also a ton of talk about "GETTING THAT BEACH BODY READY" because these people are convinced that everyone at a beach is there just to look at and not just look, measure how "perfect" exactly their "perfect" bodies are, so they feel a "need" to start "hitting the gym bro" a few months before summer to make sure that everyone can see the most "perfect" version of their bodies since that's totally the whole point of going to a beach to everyone. I lost count of how many guys I saw with half-naked profile pictures on WhatsApp (I'm in a university group chat with 256 people) and these guys always have to go out of their way to announce that they "hit the gym" to the entire world because every single girl has to hear that.

Lastly, if you don't go to a gym, they instantly label you as "fat", "lazy", a "nerd" and a bunch of other completely irrelevant stupid ♥♥♥♥. They actually treat their sacred gyms as the only form of exercise known to mankind, as if everyone was fat and unhealthy before gyms were invented, so if you don't go to a gym, you're necessarily "fat" and whatever else.

3) Story time:

Back in high school, we had a special P.E. class where went to a mountain, hiking. Going to the first stop where all the casual families go with their babies was mandatory. It's literally just a walk and absolutely nothing more, takes around an hour to get there and there's a tiny restaurant, a pond, a field and some benches and tables around. Well, every single one of those guys that just love labeling themselves as "exercise enthusiasts" and "healthy life enthusiasts" only went that far, then they proceeded to sit on their asses, smoke, scroll through some mindless crap on their phones and that kind of stuff. Me and just a couple of others went all the way to the top and back to where the rest remained which took a few hours in total and that was proper climbing with some really sketchy moments where you really wouldn't want to turn around and look down. By the top, I mean the highest point you can stand on, so when I made it up there, I had a 360 degree view from a single standpoint and everything I could see everywhere in the distance was way below and really tiny, including the 2nd biggest city in the country. It felt like standing at the top of the world and it was so much better than views from a plane.

Now that was an absolutely incredible experience, really satisfying and rewarding because of the view after all the climbing and sketchy moments, the fresh air was just awesome and there was even snow in March in the actual Mediterranean climate.

And that is actually fun exercise and actual healthy life... not rotting in an indoors gym that stinks of sweat with no traces of fresh air, touching filthy stuff full of bacteria, running on an endless track like some kind of a hamster and doing chores, but with you paying and not getting paid... And then those people I described above try to tell me that they just love "exercise" and "healthy life"... yeah, right. Not to mention that they just love spending times in bars that are like gas chambers from all the cigarette smoke where they just whine and gossip about the most stupid kind of things which they also post as a "story" on Instagram because the whole world has to know just how "interesting" their lives are 24/7, literally. ♥♥♥♥ off, please. It's obvious what they're in for and they're very often open about it.

4) Conclusion:

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I'm the real "exercise enthusiast" and "healthy life enthusiast", I'm just saying that these people are not. That's what the story above is all about. I'm not talking about myself, this is just an example which happens to involve me, I'm talking about them.

Anyway...

You know those people who get the cheapest BMW or Audi model with the weakest engine and the bare minimum in terms of equipment, just so that they can say "LOOK AT ME, I HAVE A NEW BMW" and show off their car keys to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in clubs or whatever similar dumps where they meet other idiots who love status symbols and generally showing off on "social" media. And then such people actually try to label themselves as some kind of "car enthusiasts" who just love cars. No, ♥♥♥♥ you, you don't love cars, you love status symbols and you're enthusiastic only about seeking attention from likeminded idiots who are after status symbols. If you were actually a car enthusiast, you would have something more like an Alfa Romeo (for example) and not a BMW or Audi SUV that handles like a kiosk on wheels.

This sounds less like a gym problem and more-so you just not being able to ignore annoying people.
This kind of stuff will happen regardless of where you are or what you're doing. This isn't gym exclusive.

I forgot to mention, this thread is just a (proper) response to that other thread, but in one place and done right, not half-assed and scattered all over the comments section.

I really can't even tell if the 3 comments above are sarcasm or not... Just shows how bad things are.

There is no gym culture. You do not need a scapegoat, bro. Besides, you are just reproducing and expanding upon misconceptions. Gym-rats do not enjoy special priviliges or treatment, so there is no reason to hate. Also, somebody calling others betas and gammas, doesn't mean he hates them or discriminates against, it's just that we all fall into categories anyway and for the sake of easier understanding.

Our shortcomings and inability to produce "results" (of any nature), aren't to be blamed on others or upon any culture (or lack of it thereof) whatsoever. Last but not least, keep in mind, that those doing things you don't and having perks you wouldn't, but still failing to produce favorable to them results, are actually in a worse state, so stop hating on them.

Peace

when you see/treat everyone as actual NPC's this type of stuff just doesn't matter anymore. Let them NPC out in the gym all day. who cares.. When you start to see other people as literal mindless NPC's your life becomes much easier because there is zero drama or bs, ever. When an NPC in a game says some bs to you, or tries to 'talk' to you or goad you, you just ignore it and do w/e it is you were doing. same thing applies in the real world.

unless its legit friends/fam, just picture/see everyone like this. Its Pretty on-point anyways.
