Replace Indiana Jones Actor?
Let’s face it, Harrison Ford is near death’s door and Dial of Destiny will probably be his last movie. Should the Indiana Jones franchise die with Ford or should someone else be chosen to play as Indiana Jones. I personally think Chris Pratt is a good candidate to take Ford’s place.

We're talking about Disney, it will be Zendaya Coleman by their history of leads in recent movies/shows.

i just realized they probably own Ford's likeness, so maybe they'll just make a 3D model of Ford as seen in the original movies and mo-cap it forever.

It does make me wonder if movie producers will start scanning actors if they haven't done so already in order to generate AI versions of them.

there was a brief 3D Arnold in Terminator 3, too.
they did it to Michael Jackson and 2pac as well with the holograms... "even in death i still serve"

there is no need, i think.
i believe there are reliable tools to create convincing human 3D models with no source material needed, things like MetaHuman.
if you pay attention, you will notice SpeedTree is used in all manner of digital productions (games, movies, and more) to create convincing trees en-masse.
i assume a similar approach can be taken in regards to crowds and extras as well, if not already used in some contexts.

It would be cool if future generations had their own version of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Though I’m not sure that is possible given the current state of Hollywood.

More to the point... how long before it's scanned us as the main character...

Since everyone needs to feel represented... it will be movies where they see themselves as the main character.. "Angel as Indiana in __________"
