Sure he is. We invented him. We own the rights. He is our will. He's our puppet idea to do with what we wish.

What does it claim to answer?

Why are we here?
How did we get here?
Why do my actions matter?
Where will I go after death?
Will those who commit grave unjust acts in life be punished, or will they get away with it?
Will those who sacrifice their comfort in life for good deeds be rewarded, or is it pointless?

You either optimistically or pessimistically answer these questions. Religious people pick the optimistic choice, because there's little value in assuming the worst when there is *zero* evidence either way.

All religion has done is created existential dread by asking those questions, and being unable to find a true answer to them they lie, they say "we don't know, so it must be God." Religion thrives in ignorance.
Religious people lie to themselves to help them sleep better at night because the dread they've created for themselves is too vast.

I'm not interested in optimistic or pessimistic answers, I want realistic answers, which religion has none. Just endless bs.

You don't like the idea that your life has no meaning and all your actions ultimately have no value. You don't like the idea that when you die theres nothing waiting, just a void. It ♥♥♥♥ scares you, so in your fear you lie. You lie because reality is scary. You lie because you're scared how indifferent the universe is towards you. You lie because lies make you happy.

That's true. I don't think love is an appropriate word to use here. Would you like him more if he had more flaws? I believe he was supposed to be the "good" side to God's stern and somewhat cruel attitude in the Old Testament, but I agree they made him seem too perfect.

If Jesus did exist I don't think he's anywhere near like how people say he was. They built him up to absurd proportions.

I think Jesus was just a cool dude who did his best to help people in need. Nothing more.
Like batman he was turned into an untouchable symbol people could rally behind that was larger than any one man could be.

None of these questions, can be answerd by religion. They just *Claim* they can. And they can't explain anything, except god did it. And that is not an explanation.

Only science offers answers, with actual evidence.

Science is the observation of things that happen in this world and are perceptible, thus it can only deliver information with evidence.

Religion is the observation (or rather, optimistic speculation) of that which has not yet been experienced, and more importantly, that which is believed to be incapable of being experienced in human life.

Neither of these things are logical. Science can't interact with something unless it has evidence, and religion presents the most optimistic answer in spite of a lack of evidence.

In the eternal lack of evidence, it's a coin flip. Believe and hope, or fruitlessly ponder endlessly.

that being said, you don't need to do a coin flip; you just need the assumption that causing suffering cannot be justified unless it leads to a better outcome down the line, and the existence of an universe proves that a perfect being wouldn't have created it

I'm sure it's in Proverbs somewhere. I don't know exactly, I don't read enough.

I don't do anything enough from how I "feel".
I don't pray enough, go to church enough, half the time I don't feel like I believe enough. I feel like I'm a bad person a lot of times, and have anger and sadness that make me lash out at my family or even God. I'm so thankful for Jesus because He is enough and the reason I know that I am saved. It's nothing I do or have done. I believe that he wasn't just a "Batman" and that He wasn't just a "person". Sometimes the zealous nature of a believer becomes a problem, for me often. I'm sure it's the same for the non believers who try to express their reasoning for why they don't. In the end the great thing about it all is that neither side has anything to do with any of it besides making that decision and then professing it. Serve one master or the other but none go without a master at all. As I said before, it's just arguing beyond that between people, but He's getting His message out either way. At the end of the day we're just animals howling in the dark because it's better than silence. We're not much different from most animals. We just have a vast imagination. We like to imagine we're more than what we are.

I too feel a peace of mind but for the opposite reasons.
I think life has no meaning or purpose and when I die theres nothing waiting. But instead of the fear you feel I have an appreciation for life in the here and now because I know one day everything I've experienced will end and I'll never have these moments again.

Your religion claims to have all the answers but it has none, and in an absence of answers there is nothing.
